Flight

Birds have their own world...

Woodpecker drummer produces his own tune

Cherry-picking an instrument from branches to logs

Whichever helps in declaring a territory to all

 Birds have their own world…

To entice its mates dashes hundreds of feet into air

Handful with voices others with bills & wings

Quality being the check metre for the mate

 Birds have their own world…

Grain abundance territories have persistent singers

As secret guardians carting keys of nature with them

Gossiping constantly on themselves & their predators

Birds have their own world…

The symphony of birds goes on around us like merry go round

Notes written by them hang sweetly in the air

Telling us to read them by plucking along
